It makes sense. As ESPN's Mike Sando suggested, by naming Jackson the starter -- if for no other reason than knows new OC Darrell Bevell's offense, Carroll buys short-term QB clarity without losing flexibility. And again, based on both the contract Jackson was given ($8 million over two years) and Charlie Whitehurst's inability to demonstrate front-line leadership and skill, the former Viking appears to be in the right place at the right time -- assuming the team is done addressing the position.
