Jermichael Finley Ready... But Packers Taking Cautious Approach
(7/30 10:23 PT)

The Facts:
Finley has lost almost 15 pounds and looks lean and fit. But he’s going to take it easy for the first training camp practice of the 2011 season -- just to be safe, he said, and nothing more. “I’m going to do a little something, I’m not going to do any team drills,” said Finley. “Besides that I’m going to run, do straight aheads; I’m going to do individual drills and stuff like that.” Reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Finley had surgery on his knee last season and then, weeks later, suffered a scary infection. The goal is to be smart and ease him back to work. It won't be easy. “A player like me, you know, that’s why there’s talk like that,” said Finley. “Being out since Week 5, I’m pretty hungry. So touching the grass right now, I’m pretty excited to do the drills that I want to do. ...” For what it's worth, Finley said his rehabilitation is complete. "My knees feel great. I'm just excited to be back. We play Sept. 8 against the Saints and I guarantee I will be out there."
