Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
According to Times-Union staffer Tania Ganguli, Lewis plans on being in Jacksonville by Monday for meetings and walk-throughs until his deal is finished. The Jaguars franchised Lewis in February and the Pro Bowl tight end signed his franchise tender in March. The franchise tag would pay him $7.3 million for a one-year deal, but Lewis does not want to play for a one-year deal. He wants a long-term deal and the Jaguars said they want to give him one. Veterans can be fined up to $30,000 for each day of a holdout, with a one-day grace period. HC Jack Del Rio said he suspected Lewis would be fined because he did not report while being under contract. ... For the record, the Jags hope to get Lewis the long-term deal he wants.
