Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Benson was spotty for Fantasy owners last year -- a few big games and a handful of duds (five starts with fewer than 50 yards) -- but by the end of the year the numbers added up. Still a couple years away from 30, Benson is working toward at least one more big year. Although he does have some still unresolved legal issues (and perhaps some issues with commissioner Roger Goodell as a result), Benson claims to be in top football shape. The Bengals hope that's true; with a rookie quarterback (Andy Dalton) expected to start the season under center, the offense certainly needs a vibrant rushing attack. Said offensive coordinator Jay Gruden, "We have to find a way to get the best possible scenarios to get Cedric as many touches as possible without killing him." We like that statement, and we think Fantasy Football owners will, too.
