The Jets recently re-signed Santonio Holmes to a new five-year contract worth about $50 million, and are closing in on a deal with their free agent CB Antonio Cromartie, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Jets signed former Giants WR Plaxico Burress to a one-year deal on Sunday, as well as backup QB Mark Brunell, P Chris Bryan, and DT Kenrick Ellis. ... Tomlinson is entering the final season of his two-year contract with the Jets. He is expected to be more of the third-down back with more of the carries going to Shonn Greene. The offense is planning to give Greene more than 300 carries this season. ...
