The Facts:
Darren Urban of Azcardinals.com reports Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt said Wells is the clear starter in Arizona. "To say this is a make or break season is a little premature. But this is what he wanted. Clearly he's the guy," Whisenhunt said.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Clearly? As we noted in this year's
Fantasy Football Pro Forecast, Wells posted some pretty ugly second-year numbers. His yards per game dropped significantly, and his yards per carry fell from 4.5 to 3.4. While one could argue the decision to
trade Tim Hightower to the Redskins works in Wells' favor, the same can't be said of the arrival of rookie Ryan Williams. The Cardinals would love to have a more effective rushing attack to keep defenses honest, and it's difficult to do when Wells is unable to move the ball (no games of 50-plus yards in November or December last year). If there is a bright spot it's that Wells has been working hard this offseason and plans to change the minds of his critics. Unfortunately, that's the same thing we heard this time last year. We advise Fantasy Football owners to believe it when they see it.
