Jennings, who never has been known as a flat-out burner, said he spent the offseason working on his speed. “My legs, my lower extremities, just trying to build them up and get stronger,” Jennings said. “My hamstrings. So I can be more explosive off the line of scrimmage. As far as my speed, just trying to gain a couple more seconds on a 40 if I have to run it again. Trying to get faster and more explosive."

Jennings added: “I think that was one of the things I saw myself kind of slipping over the course of last year. With the time we were given off, paid huge dividends for me in my personal workouts. ...” If Jennings slipped down the stretch, it certainly wasn’t noticeable. He caught seven touchdowns over the span of the final six weeks of the regular season and was voted to the Pro Bowl for the first time. Also worth noting: Jennings demonstrated his speed during Monday's practice when ran past CB Sam Shields, who is one of the fastest players on the team. That's a good sign.
