None other than Colts owner, Jim Irsay is breaking news this morning via Twitter. According to Irsay, the Colts have signed a veteran quarterback who retired and it is not Brett Favre. Irsay just tweeted, "We have agreed to terms with Kerry Collins...more details to come."

We will, of course, be following up, but as ESPN's Adam Schefter suggests, the signing Collins is ultimate proof that Peyton Manning's status for opener at Houston, and beyond, is in question. If nothing else, the Colts have an option beyond Curtis Painter and Dan Orlovsky, both of whom have struggled in exhibition play.
