The Facts:
The Dolphins called the Packers inquiring about Davenport's availability shortly after Ricky Williams' retirement. Head coach Mike Sherman wouldn't say never but indicated that Davenport was highly valuable and strongly suggested that he wasn't available.

Great news for Davenport, who appears content serving as Ahman Green's primary backup for a second straight season. "I'm learning too much now. Every rep I take behind [Green]," he said. "I look at it as a learning experience. I feel like when I'm able to go out on my own I want to be the best I can be. Another thing. I want to go somewhere where a team wants me, not needs me."
