previous item. ... After benching starter Luke McCown for Gabbert on Sunday, HC Jack Del Rio was noncommittal about naming a starting QB for next Sunday's game against the Panthers. "I guess the immediate next question is what are you gonna do going forward, and my answer is that we'll discuss that as a staff," Del Rio said. "What I can tell you now is that I made the decision in this ballgame to let Blaine play and get some experience, and we'll go from there. ... We're gonna do the things that make sense for us to win on Sunday."

Gabbert, the Jaguars' first-round pick out of Missouri made his NFL debut in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 32-3 blowout loss to the New York Jets. The 21 year old finished 5-for-6 passing for 52 yards and also ran once for a yard after replacing the highly-ineffective McCown, who threw four interceptions. "I'm gonna be ready. There's no question about that," Gabbert said. Del Rio said that the Jaguars decided to give Gabbert an opportunity to get his feet wet after McCown was picked off for the fourth time. Aside from throwing four interceptions, McCown was 6 for 19 passing and finished with a 1.8 passer rating. ... Stay tuned.
