The Facts:
Brown was inactive for Saturday's game against Tennessee because of left ankle and knee problems, but he said after the game that he was optimistic about playing the season finale against New England. "I think I'll be back," Brown said. "I was starting to feel better [late in the week] so next week I'm hoping it'll be good enough to play."

Nick Saban, however, said the team was, and will continue to be very careful with Brown. ''Ronnie could run [Saturday], he was pretty effective," Saban said, referring to how Brown did in warm-ups before the game. "In all honesty, unless he was 100 percent, he wasn't going to play [Saturday]. He hadn't practiced all week."
