Rattay, who is also still recovering from groin surgery, will be held out of practice until Monday to rest his right arm. An MRI exam conducted Wednesday revealed inflammation in his forearm. No significant damage was discovered.

The 49ers have targeted their Aug. 21 exhibition game at Chicago as Rattay's return to live game action. Ken Dorsey, who has taken Rattay's place with the first-team offense for the past three months, is slated to start the preseason opener Aug. 14 against Oakland.
