Martz, who missed the final 11 games this season with a bacterial infection of a heart valve, on Monday was fired as coach. In his six seasons as coach of the Rams, Martz has a record of 53-32, including 2-3 this season, with four playoff appearances. He guided St. Louis to a conference title in his second season before losing to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXVI.
