The Facts:
A turf toe injury Clayton sustained in the Dec. 24 overtime victory against Atlanta will prevent him from playing in Saturday's NFC wild-card game against Washington. Clayton did not play in the regular-season finale against New Orleans. Ike Hilliard will start in Clayton's place. Edell Shepherd, who normally is relegated to kickoff-return duties, is expected to see an increased role on the offense.
