Already one of the league's most popular candidates as teams interview to fill coaching vacancies, Childress arrived in Minneapolis on Monday evening after the Vikings were granted permission to speak with him. He is set to meet Tuesday with Vikings owner Zygi Wilf and other club officials.

Unless the Vikings are so smitten with Childress that they offer him a contract Tuesday -- which is unlikely, even given his solid credentials, because Minnesota plans to interview other candidates -- the Eagles coordinator will have an ambitious itinerary. It is believed that Childress will meet with Green Bay and Houston this week. He might also be a candidate for the New Orleans vacancy.
