The Facts:
The Chargers already
signed one WR this week. Now, they've added another. Royal arrived at Chargers Park on Thursday and clearly liked what he saw, agreeing to a contract. Its length and details were not immediately released.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Union-Tribune staffer Michael Gehlken notes, the slot receiver, who spent his first four seasons with the Broncos, projects as a No. 4 wide receiver and punt returner. On offense, Royal is a proven playmaker underneath out of the slot. He'll look to rebound from a rough 2011, slowed by groin and toe injuries before suffering a concussion on Dec. 4. In 2010, Royal caught 59 passes for 627 yards and three touchdowns. ... Royal has averaged 11.9 yards per punt return since entering the league, third in the NFL over that span. Royal joins fellow signee Robert Meachem, Malcom Floyd and Vincent Brown as the team's primary wide receivers.
