Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
By signing the tender, Davis is expected to spend the 2012 season with the Redskins. He will receive a guaranteed base salary of $5.416 million in 2012. The deal does not preclude the Redskins or Davis from negotiating a longer-team contract. Davis, 26, is coming off a career season in which he caught 59 passes for 796 yards and three touchdowns. The 796 receiving yards were the fourth-most in a season by a TE in franchise history. His 2012 campaign ended four games prematurely when he was suspended due to violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Another violation could result in a stiff penalty from the league.
