Sure, it’s easy for Jackson to say that now. He went from receiving the franchise tag to pulling down a big-money five-year contract. McCoy has been angling for his own contract extension and it might take some time. McCoy is going into the final year of his contract and as NFP staffer Brad Biggs notes, it remains to be seen if the Eagles will have the cap room necessary to make a deal happen. He’s certainly a big part of the offense but as the Eagles have shown, these things can take time.
