The Patriots made another move during a busy time, adding yet another veteran WR. This time, a friendly face. The Patriots reached an agreement on a one-year deal with Branch.

The pass-catching group is already stocked -- with recent signees Brandon Lloyd, Donte' Stallworth and Anthony Gonzalez, and Branch gives them another option. As the Herald notes, Tom Brady gets one of his favorite targets back and Branch will come to camp and have a chance to make the team. Time will tell how it shakes out. Branch had wanted a multi-year deal, but it didn’t make sense. It’s not clear how much he has left, but he’ll have a chance to prove it if he does.
