Josh Freeman, Bucs In No Hurry To Do A New Deal
(3/25 8:54 PT)

The Facts:
Freeman won't be seeking to re-visit his current contract before next year, the Tampa Bay Times reported Saturday. "We (and the Buccaneers) haven't had any discussions about it," Ron Freeman, Freeman's father and agent, told the newspaper. "I think there's no rush. Obviously, we want to have something done by 2013. It's really kind of wait and see. I don't think either side feels like there's any reason to do something before then." Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Freeman is still under contract for two more years. According to the newspaper, Freeman is set to earn $8.58 million in 2012 and $10.45 million in 2013. ... He threw 25 touchdown passes and just six interceptions in 2010, when the Buccaneers finished 10-6. But Freeman regressed last season, when he was picked off 22 times en route to a 4-12 team record. Freeman will hope to improve on his performance before going to the negotiating table. Freeman told Sirius XM radio that adding offensive weapons like WR Vincent Jackson and OG Carl Nicks made him "feel like it was Christmas, like you just got some new toys and you couldn't wait to go out and play with them. ..." Let's hope he plays well with them.
