Ryan: Wildcat Alive And Well; Mark Sanchez Will Have To Deal With It
(3/27 11:5 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... It won't be the last time coach Rex Ryan is showered with burning questions about his two-headed QB monster, but we learned a little more Tuesday about how the Sanchez-Tim Tebow scenario will play out for the Jets. "I think the Wildcat is alive and well," Ryan told the New York Daily News. Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Ryan again expressed his desire to use Tebow in the Wildcat package up to 20 snaps a game, a major shift in plans from just a week ago, when Sanchez -- hefty new contract and all -- was firmly planted as the team's starting quarterback. Sanchez openly acknowledged Monday his displeasure with the idea of coming off the field for any reason, but Ryan isn't preoccupied with the whims of his (for now) starting QB. "Mark will be OK with it if we win," Ryan said, adding that Sanchez wasn't consulted prior to chasing Tebow. "Mark's job is to play quarterback," Ryan said. "Not to be the general manager. ..." For what it's worth, Ryan told the Daily News the team "absolutely" would offer up the same three-year, $40.5 million contract extension to Sanchez today, with or without Tebow in the mix. The question is, however, would Sanchez have signed it knowing what he does now? Stay tuned.
