According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the San Francisco 49ers reached agreement with former Giants running back Jacobs.

The seven-year veteran was
released by the Giants after the two sides were unable to agree to a new contract. Jacobs, 29, recently told reporters he feels he can play three more years. “I feel like I can give somebody about three more years and I’m looking forward to being done after that," he said. "But right now I’m not done. I’ve still got a lot of gas in my tank and I’m ready to go. ..." Jacobs had 571 yards on 152 attempts (3.8 yards per carry) last season. He ran for 823 yards with a career-high 5.6 yards per attempt and nine touchdowns in 2010 working in tandem with Ahmad Bradshaw.
