Ricky Williams Would Consider Playing For Chargers
(3/30 11:6 PT)

The Facts:
According to a tweet by Joe Madani, program director of Austin, Texas, radio station 103.1 FM, Williams said on the radio this week that he has filed his retirement papers, but he’d consider playing for his hometown Chargers. Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As ESPN.com's Bill Williamson notes, the Chargers could use a big, experienced backup running back. And Williams fits the bill in that regard. The veteran tailback who will turn 35 in May, retired from Baltimore after he ran for 444 yards on 108 carries in 2011. But Williamson considers Williams a bit of the risk -- in terms of the Chargers. "If Ryan Mathews, who has had some durability concerns, has to miss a month", Williamson wondered, "Would Williams really be the answer? He last started a game in 2009. ..." Worth noting: There have been reports suggesting Williams' retirement is likely temporary. Whether he ends up in San Diego or not, we could see him again.
