appeals were filed on Friday, March 30.

Payton was suspended for the entire 2012 season in the wake of the league's investigation of bounties paid to defensive players on the Saints from 2009 through 2011, commissioner Roger Goodell said last week that, if Payton appeals, both the hearing and the decision will be expedited. So to the extent that Payton filed the appeal to buy some extra time for draft preparation and/or Tuna fishing, Payton may not get much time at all.
