The Facts:
Even as the
Saints beg Bill Parcells to come to New Orleans, the Post has learned Vikings owner Zygi Wilf is putting the hard sell on the former Giants and Jets coach to head to Minnesota and "run the show.'
Reported by the New York Post
Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Saints are seeking a replacement for the 2012 season
for suspended head coach Sean Payton, while Wilf, who has strong New Jersey ties, is simply seeking an upgrade over coach Leslie Frazier and GM Rick Spielman and believes Parcells is the guy. According to the Post, Wilf has told Parcells to "name his price" to oversee the football operation and serve as coach. The Vikings went 3-13 last season under Frazier, who took over for fired Brad Childress during the 2010 season. But Parcells, who turns 71 in August, seems unlikely to be as interested in a permanent role. In other words, the situation in New Orleans still seems like it would be better suited to Parcells.
