The Facts:
Following up on a
previous item. ... Dalton, who arrived in Cincinnati for the start of the team's conditioning program on Monday, viewed plenty of tape from last season. Among the things that he saw that need improvement are cleaning up footwork and being more consistent on the deep ball. "Throwing the football all comes down to footwork," Dalton said. "I have to put more air under it and things like that."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Dalton was first in the league in completion percentage of deep passes (16 yards or more in air) over the middle at 71.43 percent but was 15th in completions to deep left and 23rd in completions to deep right. So there is room for improvement. But overall, Dalton, who threw the fourth-most passing yards by a rookie in league history (3,398) and had 20 touchdowns to 13 interceptions, is clearly on the right track. And the Bengals seem to realize that but their biggest apparent need -- the addition of a No. 2 receiver who can be consistent opposite A.J. Green -- has yet to be addressed. Most of the offseason moves with the offense have seemed geared toward the running game. The Bengals signed guards Travelle Wharton and Jacob Bell and
added RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis. A more consistent running game should open more options for the passing game.
