It's long been known that Tebow's impact is not just limited to his achievements on the gridiron, and now TIME Magazine has revealed just how powerful it views the New York Jets quarterback's celebrity compared to the rest of the world's notable figures. TIME on Tuesday listed Tebow among its 100 Most Influential People in the World. Tebow was the only football player listed, and he was joined by five other sports figures, including New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin.

As CBSSports.com's Josh Katzowitz suggested this morning, "When you think of the list of the most 100 influential people in the world, your mind probably automatically goes to figures like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Warren Buffett and Mitt Romney. People like Benjamin Netanyahu and Iftikhar Chaudhry and Kim Jong Un and Louis CK. And of course, the mighty Tebow. ..." Other than Tebow and Lin, the athletes on the Time list all come from outside the United States: Argentine soccer player Lionel Messi, Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, South African double amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius and Taiwanese professional golfer Yani Tseng. ... For the record, it's believed that Tebow is the first backup QB ever to make the cut.
