Following the team's season finale, Faulk acknowledged that Mike Martz's departure would be a "huge disappointment" and that the identity of his successor could be a factor in whether Faulk, who will turn 33 next month, returns for a 13th NFL season.

New coach Scott Linehan wasn't shy about discussing his feelings toward the future Hall of Famer. "I have not spoken to Marshall," Linehan said. "I would love for him to be here. I'm the biggest fan of his maybe that he doesn't know. ..." Just a guess, but if Faulk decides not to return, it won't be because of Linehan.
