The Facts:
Andre Caldwell recently described a new world order in Denver, one that involved Manning seamlessly taking control of Broncos workouts. "He's leading everything that he does," Caldwell said Thursday. Manning is directing the on-field work, but the QB told the Denver Post he's still deferring to OC Mike McCoy for the direction of the unit. "We haven't gotten to that point," Manning said in response to reports the Broncos have changed to the no-huddle offense with which the QB is familiar. "What we are going to do (offensively) here depends on what Mike McCoy decides, based on the players we have, and I'm open to whatever direction that takes."

Manning added he never really operated a hurry-up offense with the Colts. It was more "hurry-up-and-wait," he said. ... Meanwhile, the team's executive vice president, John Elway felt the need to make clear that in Denver, they haven't ceded any of the personnel authority to Manning. "Peyton is not involved in the draft process," Elway told Post staffer Lindsay Jones. ... Bottom line? Even if he's not in the team's war room, Manning's presence will be a factor in their draft strategy. Just like his presence on the field will be a huge factor in the team's play calling.
