The Rams denied Atlanta's initial request to speak to Steve Fairchild, but on Friday, Fairchild and other members of the Rams' staff were told they could pursue jobs elsewhere while incoming head coach Scott Linehan evaluates the future of his staff. No formal interview has been arranged with Fairchild yet, the Falcons said. He is a candidate for the team's vacant quarterbacks coaching job.

Former Bills coach Mike Mularkey, whom the Falcons interviewed Thursday, was subsequently hired to server as Miami's OC. Lions offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Greg Olson, whom Atlanta hoped to interview last week, could be pursued by the Rams to replace Fairchild, according to the Falcons.
