Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Leshoure, 22, was originally charged with possession of marijuana, second offense, in connection with a March 12 incident in Bridgman. A plea bargain knocked that down to possession of marijuana, first offense, which carries a potential sentence of a year in jail and/or a $2,000 fine. Leshoure's sentence was $575 in fines and costs, with no jail time. His lawyer, Joseph Lavigne, told Judge Shelton Schrock that Leshoure faced "collateral consequences" with the National Football League as a result of the criminal case. Schrock agreed that the NFL's testing program was more stringent than would what be ordered by the court. Lavigne said that Leshoure is in a 24-month program that initially requires him to be test two or three times a week for drug use. It was Leshoure's second arrest for marijuana possession in Berrien County in less than a month. He also was arrested in Benton Township on Feb. 18. In that case, he pled guilty to use of marijuana on March 1 and paid a $485 fine. ... Stay tuned. Leshoure hasn’t faced any discipline from the league as yet for either of his two arrests, but that could still happen.
