ongoing story. ... Rice will be ready for the 2012 season. The Ravens running back made it clear Saturday that he’ll be in shape whenever he reports for offseason activities. “Training is something that I never worried about,” Rice said. “My training has always been part of my routine. Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Ravens applied the franchise tag to Rice for this year, but he has yet to sign the tag and is hoping to get a long term deal. The two sides have until July 22 to work out a new deal, or else Rice would have to play the 2012 season under the franchise tag. Rice didn’t talk about the ongoing contract negotiations, but the Ravens have repeatedly said that they are continuing to negotiate with his agent Todd France. Even if he ends up playing for the franchise tender ($7.7 million), Rice still has big expectations for the upcoming season. “When we get to the season, I’m going to do my job and bring a Super Bowl back to Baltimore,” Rice said.
