As PFT's Michael David Smith reminded readers, the accusation against Marshall came shortly before
the Dolphins traded Marshall to the Bears for two third-round draft picks, but it didn’t become public until after the trade was completed. That led to some speculation that the Dolphins only traded Marshall because they were worried he couldn’t keep himself out of trouble off the field. Some even suggested the Dolphins might have tricked the Bears into trading for Marshall without knowing about the incident. Both teams have insisted, however, that the incident wasn’t a factor in the trade. And now, as Smith summed up: "It appears that the incident won’t be a factor affecting Marshall going forward. ..." And noteworthy with Marshall reuniting with Jay Cutler in Chicago.
