Following up on the
ongoing story. ...Welker was in attendance at Patriots OTAs on Monday, but the week before practice started was far more eventful. Kraft was asked about the report that the team was disappointed with the public turn things have taken. "Anyone can say whatever they want. NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal's translation? "We aren't going to bust open our salary structure for a slot receiver. It's the Patriot Way. ..." Meanwhile, is anybody else starting to feel like all the drama surrounding this situation is more manufactured than actual? Welker has signed his tender and will play this season for the $9.5 million specified if a long-term deal isn't reached. The soap opera angle being played up here is getting tiresome.
