As Republic staffer Kent Somers pointed out, both will get work with the starters during these summer practices, however. The two will be competing for the starting job on an ongoing basis. And is that competition already on? Skelton had a good response when someone mentioned that coaches said players couldn't win starting jobs during these practices. "You might not be able to win a job but you'll probably be able to lose a job in an off-season like this."
