The Facts:
With pass-happy Peyton Manning as Denver's quarterback, McGahee insists his rushing statistics can improve from the 1,199 yards he gained last season behind the ground-and-pound attack directed by Tim Tebow. "My goal is to do better than I did last year," McGahee said. "And that means I've got to get past 1,200 yards."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
So how might that happen? "With Peyton coming to Denver, I don't have to worry about nine defenders in the box," McGahee said. ... He has a point. As Post columnist Mark Kizla reminded readers, Edgerrin James was the Colts' featured running back from 1999 to 2005. In five of seven seasons, James ran for more than 1,200 yards. "With (Manning) coming to Denver, it will add another piece to the puzzle and make us a whole lot better than we were before," said McGahee, counting on the Broncos to improve on last season's 19.3 points per game, which ranked the team 25th in the league. "He has us all another step forward to the high-powered offense that we're supposed to be. ..." Of course, some believe rookie Ronnie Hillman will challenge McGahee for snaps and statistics. We're among them. But we'll keep an open mind until training camp, when we start getting a better feel for how things will play out.
