The Facts:
Following up on a
previous item. ... The Bears reportedly are concerned about the knees of Forte, which in turn is influencing their willingness to give him huge money. Forte has a message for the Bears: His knees are just fine. "100Lbs sled up hill i think my knee will be ok," Forte said on Twitter,
attaching a video of him running uphill with, presumably, a sled weighted down by 100 pounds.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Bears have applied the franchise tender to Forte, under which he'd make $7.7 million for 2012. It's unknown whether he'll ultimately accept the tender and earn the guaranteed salary. But the Bears are making it clear through their words (whether it's sharing their fears of long-term concerns about Forte's knees with a local reporter or their shift to more of a pass-oriented attack in an effort to maximize Jay Cutler's talents) and actions (signing Michael Bush) that they'll be just fine whether Forte is their starting running back -- or not.
