The Facts:
It is no surprise that the production of Williams took a dip in 2011 after he had a career year in 2010. Williams' breakout season was the result of dedicating himself to conditioning and preparation for the first time in his career. Last year, sources say he reverted back to some of his old lazy habits. His weight has been an issue, both during the season and in the offseason.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
So wrote NFP columnist Dan Pompei, who added that not being in shape contributed to Williams not staying healthy last year. Indeed, Williams' production dropped substantially in 2011. In 12 games, including 10 starts, Williams caught just 18 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown before he suffered a broken ankle that landed him on injured reserve in December. But as NFL.com suggested, QB issues might have been a bigger factor in the downturn. The theory being Williams is not a receiver who is going to gain much separation from opposing defensive backs. Matt Hasselbeck had developed a quick rapport with Williams and trusted him to make a contested catch. Williams did not have that relationship with Tarvaris Jackson, who was so fearful of being intercepted, he would not throw those "50-50 balls" towards Williams, whose number of targets dropped from a team-high 110 in 2010 to 38 in 2011. ... Either way, expectations for Williams will be low this fall. And that opens the door to Fantasy value. We'll be following up.
