Now we have a better understanding of the scope and size of the new contract. It's not hard to figure out why. Gronkowski sattered the NFL mark for touchdowns for a tight end, led all tight ends in receiving yards and finished second at his position in catches last season. The new deal also makes it clear the Patriots will continue to base their passing game on the mismatches that Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez create at tight end. ... Stay tuned.
