Matt Schaub Says He's Ready To Go
(6/9 10:54 PT)

The Facts:
The next time quarterback Schaub and WR Andre Johnson are on the field together, they will not be highly paid Texans cheerleaders. Schaub is healthy after Lisfranc surgery on his right foot last November. Schaub could have participated in the OTAs, but HC Gary Kubiak kept him out as a precaution. “I’m ready to go,” Schaub said Friday. Reported by the Houston Chronicle

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Schaub will be 100 percent when training camp begins in late July. Johnson had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in early May. “We know what Matt’s capable of, and we’re expecting big things from him,” Kubiak said. “He’ll work as hard as anybody. He and Andre are going to have to stay at it.” Schaub (foot) and Johnson (knee) watched and advised during the 10 organized team activities. They’ll sit out next week’s mini-camp with about 30 other veterans who’ll spend three days in the weight room and leave the on-field work to players who need to learn the system. Meanwhile, we'll continue to follow up as needed, working under the assumption Schaub (and Johnson) will be rolling as usual at training camp. Unless(/or until) they don't. A cautious approach shouldn't shock anybody.
