The Facts:
Finley called 2011 a "so-so" season for himself. He had 13 drops. And coming off a season-ending torn meniscus, his aggressiveness was diluted with apprehension. So Finley has a plan. In February, he signed
a two- year, $14 million deal. It's a put-up-or-shut-up contract. If he wants
Rob Gronkowski money -- if he wants "to be great" -- he must bring it. Finley assures, "It's on me. Nobody else." So, yes, it's time to freestyle."

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Journal Sentinel staffer Tyler Dunne notes, "No tight end, no receiver, in Packers history has possessed this blend of size, speed and athleticism. The 25-year-old Finley can be a 6-5, 250-pound transformer. A transcendent player. Yet, too often, he's a tease. He leaves you wanting more. ..." Last season he caught 55 passes for 767 yards and eight touchdowns, but Finley also had three or fewer receptions in 10 games. Many games, he was a decoy. And Finley doesn't care what any athlete coming off a knee injury says. Several times in 2011, he admits, he thought, "This could be my last play right here." Now, he's changing that mindset. "It's all about letting loose and just playing my game," Finley said. It's also about chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. "Having an off-season, having chemistry with your quarterback is a big key to success," Finley said. "I promise you. ..." There's no doubt Finley has elite talent. But he'll have to put everything together to move into the ranks of Fantasy elite.
