Holmgren said he believes rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden can be the guy "but nothing gets handed to anybody. He's going to have to show us.' He said the decision to name the starter "can't go too close to the first game.' He stressed that it will be Pat Shurmur's decision and that when you draft a quarterback in the first round, "you draft him to play.' He said if Weeden can be the franchise quarterback it would be a great thing. "That's what we've been looking for' since they got here before the 2010 season."His skill level is excellent,' Holmgren said. "He passes the ball easily. He's as prepared to come in and start as any rookie I've seen in a long time.'
