Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Team owner Bob McNair said last month that he wanted to extend the contracts of the pair after the team finished 10-6 to win its first AFC South title and make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. "I believe it is very important to have stability within an organization, and it starts with leadership," McNair said in a team release. "We now have all of our key executives and coaches under long-term contracts. ... I feel this action gives us stability going forward and positions us to have many successful seasons for the Houston Texans." Worth noting: Kubiak's extension covers only two years, putting him under contract through 2014. In contrast, Smith had four new years added to his current contract, tying him to the team for five more seasons.
