The Facts:
The Chiefs continue to work without Charles, who tore his ACL in an early-season game in Detroit last year. But Charles all but guaranteed he would be cleared to participate when training camp begins next month. “When they let that cape off me, I’m ready to go. I’m ready to put my cleats back on and punish everybody in my way,’’ said Charles, who added that he felt so strong that he could play in a game today, if necessary.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Charles, TE Tony Moeaki and S Eric Berry suffered a similar injury at about the same time last year and all are on the same recovery timetable. They are scheduled to be examined by team doctors June 18 and either cleared to participate at camp or not cleared. Assuming Charles is cleared, Fantasy owners should feel comfortable enough drafting him -- even if the Chiefs take a cautious approach in training camp.
