ongoing story. ... The Harvin situation appears to be escalating quickly. An NFL source confirmed early Wednesday morning that Harvin has requested a trade, less than 24 hours after he first revealed to reporters he's "not happy" with several issues he wouldn't identify.

Harvin, 24, has two years remaining on his original rookie deal, with base salaries of $915,000 in 2012 and $1.55 million in 2013, plus modest workout bonuses of $27,500 in each year. He was on the field for minicamp on Tuesday but participated only in individual drills -- which coach Leslie Frazier chalked up to Harvin's recovery from shoulder surgery in April. Asked whether the "issues" must be resolved before he'd report to training camp, Harvin said, "Definitely. ..." For the record: The Vikings aren't going to trade him. So, we'll continue to follow up. Even though Harvin doesn't have a ton of leverage here, he can certainly continue to create drama.
