The Facts:
Nicks has maintained that he is a fast healer and that he hopes to be recovered from a broken foot in time for the start of training camp at the end of July. In an interview on "The Mac Attack" show on 610 AM WFNZ in his hometown of Charlotte, Nicks was asked if he'll definitely "make" training camp. "Definitely making training camp," Nicks replied.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
"I started running about two weeks [ago] but the coaches don’t really want me to force the issue right now so I still haven’t started running yet. They want me to just take my time with it -- they feel like that’s what’s best. So right now I’m just taking my time with it. … But I’ll definitely be ready for the season.” As ESPN.com's Ohm Youngmisuk notes, making camp is not the same as being ready to practice at the start of camp. But the expectation always has been that the Giants will be very cautious with their top receiver. Nicks
broke the fifth metatarsal and underwent surgery in late May. He might not be back on the field until mid-August. Still, it's worth noting that Nicks is no longer in a protective walking boot. The expectation is Nicks will be ready for the season opener against Dallas.
