Shockey, who has battled injuries in his two seasons in the NFL and practiced yesterday for the first time since June foot surgery, didn't like being portrayed as injury prone today. "I don't care what people think of that," he said. "If I were to get a career-ending injury this season, I'm happy about what I have already done. I don't care. I'll go full speed and whatever happens will happen. God has a path for me."

Fair enough. ... We'll remind you however, that Shockey has has about as many surgical procedures during his professional career as touchdown catches. ... For what it's worth, Shockey felt a little soreness after his first workout, but felt it was the result of having too much time between plays. He won't play in Friday's pres-season opener.
