Browns Take WR Josh Gordon In Supplemental Draft
(7/12 12:33 PT)

The Facts:
The Cleveland Browns used a second-round pick in the NFL's supplemental draft Thursday to select former Baylor and Utah wide receiver Gordon, according to the NFL. Reported by NFL.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
It gives the Browns another weapon on a young team that also includes quarterback Brandon Weeden and running back Trent Richardsons. NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah described Gordon as a lean, muscular pass-catcher with the "ideal NFL body for the wide receiver position. ..." Gordon hasn't played since 2010 when Gordon caught 42 passes for 714 yards and seven touchdowns in Baylor's offense, led at the time by Robert Griffin III. Gordon was dismissed from the team in August 2011 for off-field issues and transfered to Utah. He wasn't eligible to play last season, but Jeremiah, as a scout for the Philadelphia Eagles, watched Gordon practice during a scouting trip to Utah. He saw a player who stood out on the practice field. For what it's worth, at Gordon's workout on Tuesday, he ran a 4.52 40-yard dash. Respectable for a 6-4, 225 pounder. While he seems like a bit of a project, he's certainly going to an offense in need of playmakers. ... Stay tuned. We'll be following up.
