Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
GM Tom Heckert essentially confirmed this report with subsequent comments. "Where we got Josh was good value and we got him a year early," Heckert said. "We hope he comes in and plays right away. We expect him to play. ..." The Browns had two scouts at the 6-4, 225-pound Gordon's pro day workout on Tuesday. Gordon timed the 40-yard dash in 4.52 before pulling a quadriceps muscle. The Browns, and most other teams, considered the time impressive considering Gordon's physical dimensions. Nobody as heavy as him ran a better 40 at the NFL combine. Bottom line? According to ESPN.com's Tony Grossi, Gordon has the physical tools and the hands to be Cleveland's new No. 1 receiver. But Fantasy owners shouldn't assume the expectations for immediate contributions will automatically comes to pass. We still see Gordon as a player in need of development. We'll hope for more, but need to see actual indications of it before biting in redraft leagues. Dynasty owners? That's obviously a different story.
