Adrian Peterson Appears In Court; Case Reset For Aug. 6
(7/13 11:27 PT)

The Facts:
Peterson appeared in Harris County Criminal Court Friday on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest after an alleged confrontation with an off-duty police officer July 7 at a nightclub downtown. Peterson, 27, has hired Rusty Hardin to represent him. On Friday, the attorneys in the case agreed to reset the case for Aug. 6. Reported by the Houston Chronicle

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Earlier this week, Peterson's attorney Rusty Hardin disputed the events that led to Peterson’s arrest during the early morning hours of Saturday. “Adrian Peterson did not resist arrest this past Saturday morning and any suggestion that he pushed, struck or shoved a Houston Police Officer is a total fabrication,” Hardin said Monday afternoon. “He, in fact, was struck at least twice in the face for absolutely no legitimate reason, and when all the evidence is impartially reviewed, it will clearly show Adrian was the victim, not the aggressor. ...” Hardin recently defended baseball pitching star Roger Clemens who was acquitted at trial of lying to Congress concerning his alleged use of steroids. With the trial delayed until next month, you can expect to hear plenty from Hardin (on behalf of Peterson) in the interim.
